Does the EMU work at closed loop ?

I'm sure I read recently that the HKS F-con V pro can work at closed loop, EVEN when used as a piggy back.

I always thought (assumed) that aftermarket Piggy back's just took care of business in the "Open Loop" zone and left the closed loop action to the stock ECU/o2 sensors.

This got me thinking....Can other piggy back ECU's work in closed loop too ?

Or is it just that the HKS unit is a fully blown replacement ECU with all the bells and whistles which, allow it to carry out this function even in piggy back mode....

They can all adjust things in closed loop. Say you modify the MAP signal to take off 20%. The stock ECU will see whatever the MAP value is less 20%. It will still try and maintain 14.7AFR so it will adjust the duty cycle up or down to try and get there. It will just start from a different start point than if you didn't have any modification from the piggyback. If you have something like an EMU which modifies the injector pulsewidth, again the stock ECU will try and maintain 14.7AFR - whatever it decides to do will then be modified by the piggyback.

The short answer is no, for the reasons mentioned above, it will be a constant battle with the std ECU, but there are ways around, did read something on one of the EMU forums on how to but its a bit involved, i had thought about modifying the signal form my wideband, which i use anyway for the std ECU, but TBH i don't really want to loose the fuel economy, anyway with my TTC set up it works out pretty good.

Why do you want to adjust closed loop? it goes to map as soon as positive pressure is reached anyway.

I have V-pro standalone in full closed loop, capable of 90% addition of subratction of fuel duty from the base map.

When something goes wrong (ie run out of fuel) it really goes to town.

don't know if you can set them up as piggy though.
