DBR
I have just insured my car with adrian flux's agreed value policy but im having a few problems trying to get them to understand the value of my car. I have a immaculate 1995 UK spec 6 speed manual on 52,000 miles with a squicky clean full service history, 98% of it with Toyota the remainder with Phoenix. Now I was offered 16k for this car back in October and i reckon it would sell for at least 14k on the current market, I valued it to them as 12-13k not wanting them to think i was over pricing and they have come back with a figure of £10k?? - im not sure about you guys but i reckon its worth alot more than that seeing as auto's are going for that price on higher mileage in lower condition. Any ideas how I can get around this prob. Cheers for your help in advance.
Gaz6002
Find adverts for similar cars for sale is my first response, but that might prove difficult. Take several pics showing how good the car looks? Also you could try speaking to Toyota and see if they can help?
mwilkinson
I have an agreed value of 12K on my car with Sky insurance and thats a 1995 J-Spec TT 6 Speed, but I do have modifications which I think added to the value. For stock regardless of condition I am not sure wat you would get.
Bobbeh
I think the only way you're going to get the value as to what you think is by sending them evidence of equally good examples and what they're selling for.... which will be difficult in your case as there aren't many UK 6's about, let alone stock ones with decent service history and low mileage. In your case, I think £10k is too cheap looking at some of the junk that sells for that and more.

mwilkinson
Yep TT!! I found with Sky after the first year they really tried to sting me with an increase. I got on the phone to A plan and got a new quote with low compulsory excess. I then played them off against each other. In the end Sky matched A plan so I stayed with them. It therefore might be worth checking A Plan, although I don't think they do agreed value.
DBR
cheers for the replies peeps... unfortunatly im not going to find another UK manual like this one, ive looked everywere to compare prices, its like trying to find a needle in a haystack. It took me 2.5yrs waiting and looking just to find this one for myself. I have also tried to call Toyota - unfortunalty my left buttock knows more about Supra's than then most of there current staff. Stuck? i sure is hell want insured for more than 10K!, jokers
