Part number request

It seems there might be a difference, in EPC it lists the following, but only "up to chassis 0035274"

47750-14250 - CYLINDER ASSY, DISC BRAKE, REAR LH

47730-14240 - CYLINDER ASSY, DISC BRAKE, REAR RH

If anyone can supply a chssis and frame number for a model later than 0035274 I can check it on EPC

Surely you aren't going to buy a new one, they're very cheap and readily available secondhand with quite a few owners fitting the larger ones.

No am not buying new and I already have replacements but they are larger 2pots than the early J-Spec and I wanted to get the part numbers for them both so I could find out what the differences are.

Thanks Homer you don't know the part numbers for the fronts do you?

I take it the change in material had something to do with the old ones constantly cracking the housing around the bleed nipple.

Thanks guys, it is just confusing me that the late J-Spec calipers I have fitted on the front do not allow the stock 16" rims to fit. I really wanted this one to remain stock looking and now cannot put the wheels on. Did they change the wheel size on the later models as well, i take it they must have to allow the new caliper design it's just not something i was aware of and they look identical in size.

I seem to remember them being made of different materials and being a one piece design after a certain period of time.

See this thread(post 11 onwards) http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=64963&highlight=brake

Yep the replacement ones are cast iron not alluminium and are slightly larger and do not allow the stock 16" rims. They are not a one piece design though still the same join.

Learn something new every day.

Thanks

Keith
