Guest Reaver_
Hi all, Since buying the TT6, i've been on one hell of a budget so i've had to drive everywhere in the highest gear possible and never go above 2.5k rpm. Its been a nightmare resisting the temptation to use the go pedal. Apart from a few seconds of "giving it some" and watching the petrol gauge drop, i've had to be good and not use the power at all. Now that my petrol budget is gone, i floored it down the motorway on ramp tonight and the first turbo seemed to be struggling. The engine made a strange deep rumbling noise and exhaust rattled then as soon as the second turbo kicked in, the deep nasty noise turned into the usual 3L roar, the car quietened a bit, and everything became 'smooth' again. Its quite tricky to describe, but does anyone have any idea what it could be? The car is a stock TT6 with an FCD and catback exhaust. Don't think it has decat pipes or restrictor ring fitted.
