rick001
Only recently had my n/a converted to TT (so be gentle with me ) - How do i know when #2 turbo comes on line? Should i be feeling a fresh surge of power or is smooth??
AndyT
fresh surge would be an apt description bud. Around 3800 - 4000 revs.
squiffy
watch out for it dude, that "fresh surge" has caught a lot of us out!
rick001
Mine seems to be smooth, dont feel a surge, would that suggest my #2 tubby is fooked in some way? and how would i know if it is?? Thanks chaps
hodge
If you have a boost gauge you will see the difference on the gauge at around 3800-4000rpm. The 1st Turbo will boost to .7 bar and then you should get an increase to whatever your max boost is set at at the above rpm.
Thorin
Fit a boost gauge.

I dont unfortunatly Hodge, when im accelerating i hear a spinning up quite audible in the cockpit, is this #2 spooling waiting to come on line or #1 just going through the motions? colsoop
Im not too far away if you want to take me out in it With both cats in the surge does tend to be gentler than with them removed, also get a boost gauge then you can see what boost is running. That'll be the first one spooling and boosting mate. When the second one comes in you're a little too busy to be listening.
