patrik
Hello, The uk fuel pump is said to have a higher flow than the jspec does anyone know the spec for the jspec/ukspec and ive read somewhere (dont know where) that the uk spec is the same as another pump that dont cost so much as the toyota one. and can you put 2 pumps in and connect them? additional question how big injectors can a ukspec drive? (im new to the fueling soo be nice :-) )
Wez
You cant change the injectors without having a way to control them, the stock fueling will be setup for stock sized injectors. Yes the UK/US pump is bigger than a JSpec, most people buy a Walbro pump.
bondango
Jeff Lucus/RC engineering done a few fuel pump tests a few years ago. The results were that The USDM (same as euro/uk) Supra pump at 13.5 volts flows sufficient fuel at line pressures up to 68 psi (25 psi boost) to supply six injectors with any size up to 625 cc/min
patrik
thanks for the link! now i know where i read the test (some years back) for any fuel pump upgraders out there you should definetly read this before spending money on a walboro 255 pump (it flows about the same as the UK pump)
patrik
However the walboro is much cheaper. Rated flow lph @ 43psi @13.5V Toyota Supra Turbo Denso 195130-1020 Toyota 23221-46110 277 73 260 lph @ 43 psi; 220 lph @ 58 psi; @ 12 V 1. 290 lph @ 43 psi; 260 lph @ 58 psi; @ 14 V 1. Conicelli sells this pump for $180 ($244.71 list price). Black tag on top. Rated flow lph @ 43psi @13.5V Walbro Walbro GSS 341 262 69 This flow data from T&HTP.3 Flow data from Auto Performance Engineering says only 255 lph. The Walbro 341 can be purchased from Extreme PSI for about $100. An adapter is required for the pickup tube and electrical connection. Guest ImraanK
Walbro gss342 is for the jap spec... Not sure if the Denso UK unit will fit in our jap spec.
patrik
ok guys, you who knows will the uk pump fit in the j spec?
Terminator
ok guys, you who knows will the uk pump fit in the j spec? Yes it will, however it does not quite sit in the rubber locator. Mine has been like that for 4 years.
dive_popo
Yes it will, however it does not quite sit in the rubber locator. Mine has been like that for 4 years. and once fitted it is working well with the jap spec configuration ?? how about the pump ecu ? I should let it as it is or put it in permanent 12V ??? Yes the UK/US pump is bigger than a JSpec, most people buy a Walbro pump. For good reason too....I tried changing my j-spec for a new UK pump and the issues I had were ridiculous. In the end I ended up taking it out and putting the jspec pump back in. It wouldn't work with the fuel pump ECU and only run when this was bypassed and run 12v which I didnt fancy too much. I thought about sticking a separate relay in for the UK pump and trying that but sold the car shortly after Have a search through my threads...im sure there is tons of info in the subject. I think I spoke to you Phil on this one too iirc
David P
U.K. spec pump 299lph @ 43.5 psi and is silent. I have one fitted to my N/A complete with carrier and J spec TT fuel pump ECU. It is working perfectly. U.K fuel pump is compatible with a J spec T.T. fuel pump ECU but not N/A. Side by side pics and info in supracharger project thread. mikeyb10supra
what was the issue exacly with the pump ? The pump was fine, it was the j-spec pump ecu that threw a hissy fit. The only wa it ran was with the ecu bypassed which was not a good idea
dive_popo
A friend had a euro spec pump on his jap spec and sometimes when cruising the engine was stopping and he had to start it again with the key... (tt auto jap spec Supe) You had the same issue ? is the tt euro pump ecu same as tt jap spec ecu ?? dive_popo
I found at toyodiy.com that -euro spec tt pump ecu is 89570-14230 -jap spec tt pump ecu is 89570-14240 -na pump ecu is 89570-14240 so the na has the same pump ecu that jap spec tt... so it wont find my config, I'll need to find a euro pump ecu... :(

Wez
I thought people use to upgrade jspec pumps to UK all the time without issue, but new for new the Walbro was a cheaper option

dive_popo
any advice ?
Ian C
I had a UK spec pump once, brand new, that did the same thing. It turned enough to slightly pressurise the fuel system and start the car, but delivered very little fuel so as soon as you revved it, it stalled. It'd also chug and die after a few seconds of idling. It was a bad brand new pump, Toyota took it back and replaced it. Check how much fuel is flowing by removing the return hose and venting it into a suitable container, then try starting the car. I'll bet nothing really comes out.
