I turned their fire wall etc off through, which speeded things up.

Scott
IMO Vista is pants as is IE7 Everyone said the same about XP when it first came out. It seems a regular trend that when the new MS OS comes out it gets slated until its been out for X amount of time. I really like vista but i haven't installed SP1, think i'll be steering clear. marbleapple
Now i'm used to Vista I would never go back to XP. I also have Office 07 which I like a lot too.
Wez
I ran XP from very early builds, through the betas and RC releases, upgrading each time. I have installed vista twice now, an early RC and then a final release, both stayed on the machine for less than a week. Its crap

Pot
I turned their fire wall etc off through, which speeded things up. Cheers, I'll give that a go, although now and again the whole PC's slow, which is frustrating as it was fine before SP1 grrr...

Its crap You will come round, the people i am referring to ALWAYS do I highly doubt the boffins/testers at microsoft would allow new software to be inferior to that which it replaces. Saying that, Bill Gates isn't the richest in the world any more. Maybe he is losing his touch. Scott =op

Pot
Reformat time lol - I had enough of that with XP, I'm going to see if I can figure this bad boy out - Note, it wasn't the firewall...
Wez
Vista is far to heavy on resources for it to be deployed in large corps without upgrading the hardware to suite, yes you can turn all the gui crap off but then why change from XP which is running fine, Vista doesnt exactly offer anything that businesses could gain from, well not that I have seen anyway. Most home users like all the fluffy stuff which is where its really intended to be used. Maybe Windows 7 (Vienna/Blackcomb) will offer something that is worth the upgrade. Scott
I won't. Linux FTW \o/ U definitely have me there. I'm not a Linux user but i know its a pretty solid OS. Mostly because hardly anyone uses it though. Not really any security worries or anything like that. Scott =op
