Pete
That's terrible news Greg. Sorry to hear as I know how much it means to you to get in. Best of luck for the op though. One of the guys here had similar op from falling off a roof.
SupraAyf
Andy - Army has always interested me and if they do take on officers up to 30 I will certainly look into it. Not giving up yet, I know it'll be a rocky ride over the next few months but my long-term health does matter more than the RAF or Forces. Greg, you need to enter RMAS by the time you reach your 30th birthday. Sandhurst is a great deal more physical than Cramwell and it is 12 months as opposed to 6 with the RAF. You need to ensure that you are fit for either of the courses as the last thing you want is to be back-termed through injury as your muckers will pass out and you'll be stuck on the shelf waiting for the next intake to arrive. If you go down the RMAS route then drop me a line.
Sheefa
Great News guys! Got back from the Docs today and the Orthapedic Surgeon said that it is highly unlikely I will need the ligament reconstruction surgery. Instead he thinks the build up of excessive scar tissue has caused my probs and that the cartilidge may also be a little rough. Booked in for keyhole scope and surgery on Left Ankle on 5th April. If all goes to plan I'll be in a splint for 2 days just to allow stitches to heal, a proper does of Physio to ensure my proprioception is back up to scratch and then can continue training. Probably will get right done a couple weeks after too. Touch wood. Going in with an open mind in case he does have to reconstruct, but he said my ATFL ligament is completely intact with no tear present. Here's hoping. Fell much more positive today!!! colsoop
Fingers crossed for you bud. Can you do some low impact alternative excercises for a while. i used to do circuit training in the swimming pool with an inflatable belt for boyance. You can do sprints up and down the pool and alss use inflatable dumbells etc, if the pool has them. It is a great workout (especially if the pool is hot) and is also low impact

Doc says I should keep up my cardio on the bike, pool and urgo (rower). As I said before Colin, there isn't actually any pain when i'm exercising but I must be aggravating the scar tissue causing inflammation in the joints following exercise or when my feet aren't doing anything. Could call though, I need to do more swimming but I do find it pretty boring!

Carl_S
Jeez, thats sad. Give it your best shot. I remeber the enrolling vid for the RAF the showed me. Don't know if they still show it. But a guy was eating lots of crisps. So don't go down that route while you recover!

We'll find out the outcome on the 5th Aprile on left ankle and 2 weeks after (tbc) for the right. In pain today, but this should sort it hopefully. Thanks.
