Chevy big block

I am toying with the idea of fitting a big block or a 5.7 litre crate engine to the Camaro as the 5 litre is strangled by the American smog laws and extracting power will be expensive, I have read either engine will drop straight in to the Gen3 Camaro, can anyone confirm this and perhaps recommend a garage for the work

These guys perhaps??

Dont know mate, but I was taken for a drive today in a Cobra replica that Austec fitted out with a small block chevy stroked to 7.2, large edelbrock intakes etc etc. Holy crap I fell in love  4-1 side exhausts made such a horny sound, and the spits\bangs etc Just awesome :)

Do Austec work on Camaro's by any chance as I can get the engine sent over from the states

Aren't big blocks enormously big (:)), heavy, and expensive compared to the small block?

If you do change the the engine, I'd have thought that a more powerful SBC would be the best bet, since they've been more or less the same since 1955.
