Spraying Dash

Iv been umming and ahrring and cant decide what colour to spray my dash.

 

I have Arden Blue like my car colour and Toyota Silver No.2

 

What colour should I spray it?

 

I am sure Silver would look better but something is yelling out BLUE!

That is what I was thinking.

 

At the moment its black but its faded and looks pretty naff.

If it needs spraying I'd do it grey to match the surrounds of your facelift rear light clusters.

I just did a quick photopshop of Blue dash.

 

I think it would look wicked if somehow the WHOLE dash could be sprayed. ANyone any ideas on how this could be done?

on a serious note, i would stay away from blue, it's too over powering, but it's your car so .......

Yeh I like the idea of the dark grey that lukeboy mentioned, but I think I am going to go with silver. Will match the steering wheel and handbrake coover I am going to get etc.

 

Does anyone know how you can convert the WHOLE dash to another colour? I saw a blue MG the other day and the whole interior was cream leather. I think it looked really smart.

^^^Either alot of masking tape and careful spraying, or remove the whole dask!

I think I'll be doing mine in a grey/gun metal colour:) A nice subtle but nice/modern interior.

youll need to mix the correct amount of flex into the paint to stick to that,

I would go for Black. It is not in your face and will go with anything.

 

Or black with the top part that goes over the steering wheel, and the drivers window switch panel silver.

What was your technique to doing it?

Took it right back to the plastic with a b&q mouse sander. If you are left with any heavy scraches use 1500 wet and dry once done...primed 2 coats painted 2 coats then 2000 wet and dry to remove imperfections b4 i gave it 2 coats of laqure and dont rush it, i left it over night between paint coats.

 

2000 wet and dry can be used at the end to get rid of any bits of sh*t that may have flown in...then just compound and polish after that if need be.

All done in a warm garage with spray cans:d:d

I reckon your photoshop with just part of the dash blue looks pretty good, its unique too why not buy a second dash piece and spray that blue and if your not keen then spray your original one silver. I'm sure a scrappy will have one for cheap money.

Im looking at colouring my dash. i think a gunmetal grey metallic will look best imo.

mines a silver car so cant stray too far without it looking c##p.
