jamesmark
This is for my father. He runs Vista on his laptop and has Zonealarm on it but it is not fully compatible with Vista although he has downloaded patches from Zonelabs site. What other Antivirus or full program that has spyware firewall etc that runs perfectly on Vista and is simple for him to work. Cheers
SMiFFAD
Norton 360 - its a big old bruit of a piece of software, but runs well enough. I know people hate Norton, but its the only bits of software ive used that hasnt resulted in a virus getting through.
jamesmark
He has download/installed Windows Live Onecare, anyone using this? Load of rubbish or pretty good?
DamanC
Off the shelf Mcafee 2008 or Norton 360 would be best for him. Never used Oncecare.
Tricky-Ricky
Had the same problem with Zone alarm,(which i have used for years with no problem with XP) on my vista laptop, Zone alarm is a firewall not anti virus, i also use the free version of AVG anti virus, and it runs fine with Vista, works well. Pot
AVG Free works fine on my system, never had a problem with it.
Shovels
AVG Free edition is good, but it's just anti-virus. You'll need to pay for the internet security ed. to get firewall, spyware scanning, etc. You can also get AVG Anti-Spyware for free, but it has limited functionality (you have to manually download the updates after 30 days)
VIL
Go for one of the better developed products that has more than just AV, look for spyware, PUP detection, desktop firewall....as always my bias is toward McAfee.
garetheves
another vote for nod32 from me. I use it with vista with no probs.

Guest mick1641
I use Avast on my machine and works well with Vista and the home version is free. The only annoying thing is the blue pop you get when it receives new virus database information.

The only annoying thing is the blue pop you get when it receives new virus database information. Right click the icon Goto Program settings Click the Update basic icon on the left Click details button on the right Untick the 'show sliding box after update' option No more popups for updates;) I also rate Avast:)

Scott
Another vote for Avast here. Very good AV and light too. Hardly uses any resources. Hasn't let me down once and i have been on some questionable sites lol. Scott =op
