ivan
I may be wrong here marbleapple, but I believe the Lawyers sacked her Definitely wrong. Ermm solicitors don't turn down money. I think back in November they sacked her http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/law/article2839009.ece Perhaps she sacked her latest ones? I remember her sacking them, allegedly to save money She accused them of overcharging her by £250,000 and is accordingly taking them to court. I'm not sure who actually sacked who, but it is obvious that one or the other had to do it. I've just read "The Judgement" in full (I was bored, OK?) No wonder all Macca would say is "All will be revealed." And no wonder Ms Mills didn't want it made public! It certainly lays the boot in with regards to her lying and trying to manipulate the press etc. FFS, according to the Judge she was even trying to con money out of his company while they were still married. HM has still also got a libel trial or two coming up against a couple of British papers. It looks like she is accusing them of wrongly publishing court documents which they claim she gave them and gave her permission. If these trials go ahead it may give her free reign to legitimately bring up Macca's alleged "conduct" and he will have no way to answer her claims. far
a law firm can refuse to take on a case or stop working on a case if it infringes their policies or ethics. Having ethical lawyers though is another story I think Jade Goodie had a law firm quit on her while the Shilpa Shetty thing was going on - but dont quote me on that as my memory is sh1te and I dont remember the exact detail

marbleapple
I may be wrong here marbleapple, but I believe the Lawyers sacked her I do understand the point you and Charlotte make. I just wonder if you get the odd "impossible" client, you may want to distance yourself from them In the mean time I sit corrected. According to the SRA and the Solicitors Code of Conduct, you can only cease to act 'if there is a good reason and after giving reasonable notcie' (Rule 2 Guidance note 8). I doubt according to the SRA that just because she is a one legged fruit cake will be a sufficient reason. Only if there is a conflict of interest etc can solicitors cease to act. Still if the solicitors are as good as I suspect, I am sure they could find a way for her to 'sack' then at their request etc.

Harps
Blimey, I just read through it - no wonder she didn't want it made public! Those interviews she did last year really came to bite her on the arse, and I lost count of the amount of times the judge used words like 'inconsistent' and 'exaggerated'. Scooter
I got divorced a few years ago and I was the major bread winner, we had no savings as such, I found out my wife was seeing someone else and I went mad of course, but SHE divorced me on grounds of unreconcilable differences, I lost the house, the car and a very large sum of money that I have to go and borrow from a bank, I still wonder about the legal system to this day, yep fault of breakup makes no difference to the outcome, bread winner stands no chance of custody, therefore other partner receives the house and a settlement to "maintain the lifestyle to which they were accustomed"............regardless of the level of loss of lifestyle for the old bread winner! Ark
Had it been V Beckham, I would say, ok she 'could' be entitled to half as she has earned a considerable amount on her own depsite being with her partner (little next to Mr D Beckham, but at least she has done/achieved something). For the record, I can't stand V Beckham . Not sure (read: don't care) about the current situation, but only a couple of years ago VBs worth dwarfed DBs, because of her Spice Girls earnings. Probably now with the reunion, she's worth even more again. Remember DBs earning are mostly from advertising revenue, rather than football - an awful lot of money involved but not as much as being an international pop "star". Can't stand the woman.

Rob
Thing with the Beckhams is that they they are a couple whos collective fame is bigger then the sum of it's parts. Would anybody be bothered with David if he hadn't married Posh, and vice versa. Their combined earnings are intrinsically linked, which is the opposite of Thumbs aloft Macca and PinocchiHO.
