Fuelling problem

Damz

Recommended Posts

Recently fitted fcd and uprated pump and removed the restrictor ring to get car running at 1.2bar. Had the fuelling checked on wideband at 1.2 and was told it was runnin seriously lean above 5500rpm. Guy at garage said to buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator so i phoned paul at Whifbitz today who said that i shouldnt need one at this boost and that there must be a problem with the car. A few things have been suggested like fuel blockage, current regulator faulty, injectors etc.. What is the most likely reason for this and best place to start lookin for problems??

I'd try the fuel filter first. It may be blocked.

Next try the fuel pressure at each part of the fuel line you can gain access too. If there is a distinct drop in pressure at any point that may indicate a blockage in the line.

After that it get to the more expensive tests of changing stuff. At least the first 2 are inexpensive though :)

Hope that helps

Yeah goin to start with the filter and check pressure before then check it again after iv changed it.

Can anyone tell me what the fuel pressure should read on idle and at higher rev points?
