how_supra
Some maths........ What does 9 + 3 equal??????? A BAN!!!!!!!!! 6 of those points expire this year, 3 in Feb and 3 in June Two weeks to the day, minding my own business doing about 35mph (may have been slightly more) in a 30mph, and I noticed a bright yellow man pointing his evil radar gun in my direction (not a speed trap my a*se), I did slow down......but did I???? God damn it, I can't remember!! There was also another car right in front of me (like less than a cars length a way) and he may have been clocking him and not me.......oooo but it probably was me. I saw him and he looked at his gun thing and started playing with the buttons...... its driving me mad, was it him, was it me, was it him, was it me arrgghh. As a result, all of this week I have been scared of my post - just in case that little brown envelope notifying me of yet another slight infringement on the speed limit, arrives on my door mat. Bugger it!! But I'm thinking it has been two weeks now........am I out of the sh*te??? or do I have another week to go before I'm safe and I drive down to Halfrauds and buy myself a road angel???? (not to self........do that anyway). Pleeeeeezzzzzzeeeeee someone your thoughts???
hadyn
14 days after the day the guy pointed the gun at you is the threshold - once its over 14 days they cant do you AFAIK
how_supra
Yes that's what I thought!!!!!! Now is that 14 working days????? I know I know my own fault for god damn speeding!!! But don't they have ought to have better things to be doing!! In fact, about half an hour before that happened, driving down the M40, about 2 miles short of J2 London bound, I'm in the inside lane, (I have 9 points on my licence, I'm not interested in speeding - really ask anyone) a foreign lorry for some reason in the lane next to me, BMW driver speeding down the same lane as the lorry (as slow drivers are over taking lorry etc et), decides to undertake, completely disregards me, and I get forced onto the hardshoulder, whilst he tears off down the motorway Then I get (or am likely to get) 3 points on my a licence and a stupid ban for driving safely on the road. Its total b@llocky sh@tey poo
foodfreak
you normally have 28 days to respond to the N.I.P use them wisely:) & you should be OK John
Bobbeh
Usually you'd be stopped there and then if it was a manned speed gun trap.. they just flag the car, pull them over question them etc. You may have been lucky.
garetheves
I thought it was 4 weeks from the incident. If you hadnt heard anything by then you could assume you hadnt been clocked. The way the post is it could take 2 weeks just to get to you. There wont be a problem anyway mate, stop worrying. Hell have got the guy in front of you. how_supra
Fingers crossed. I've never appreciated my driving licence as much as I have done over the past two weeks. What will be will as they say
Class One
If you were done, the notice of intended prosecution MUST have been issued 14 days from midnight on the day after the offence. It is possible that if a car was in front of you, then you were not clocked. As for the man in the yelow coat, they are generally now civilian employees trained in the use of the equipment. There is no necessity for them to pull you at the time of the offence. I would say that if you are way past the two weeks and you haven't received your NIP then you are ok. Yeah that's what i've been saying. I think it's all good, and if the letter does appear then draw it out a little longer untill the feb ones come off. Green Peace
I was in a similiar situation a few years ago....car in front (driven by a mate) got pulled for sppeding 45 in a 30 I was doing same speed and pulled in behind my mate when he got pulled though they couldn't do me even though they knew I was doing same speed.....so can only do the car in front it seems
