Trig
and the CO poisoning would be due to the seal perishing around the burner, the newer ones had the seals fitted andthere is a seal kit which should have been fitted by the installer/manufacturer by now. Fargo
I thought that this was a combi (as in sealed system)? I think you will find that it gets scaled on the hot water side as well as the heating side, especially if they havent got a scale reducer installed. true, but cant say ive heard of anyone powerflushing/chemically treating the domestic side. and the CO poisoning would be due to the seal perishing around the burner, the newer ones had the seals fitted andthere is a seal kit which should have been fitted by the installer/manufacturer by now. can also be via a damaged/perished flue, the seal kits will only be fitted if/when someone comes round, ie British Gas has a program setup whereby all Valliant boilers of a particular type are having the door seals replaced (to the cost of the manufacture of course), but i have not heard of such a thing going on with the powermax. Scoboblio
Interesting, we have this exact same boiler and it's........rubbish! Keeps venting water outside because it complains that it's over pressure, then the pressure will drop too low and it locks out. Several stupid a-hole plumber visits later and a few replacement parts, and we're still no closer to finding out what's causing it. We can't even get a bath full of hot water out of ours either. Luckily we rent our house, so it's not our problem.

Thanks, will pass that on to the brainless moron plumber if I see him again. Mind you if I see him again, it'll probably be to ask why I had to download and give him an instruction manual last time! Oh and sorry for the
