Sean1933
So much for taking the benefits of the club insurer, they wont even quote until im 23 (July)on the single. I have owned TT supra's since i was 18, last years insurance was £480 F/C with Elephant. For some reason my insurance is quite cheap, maybe its to do with my job (insurance claims ). I have now gone single so am on the hunt for decent prices. Elephant dont want to know as its a big power increase. A-plan wanted £1095 with £500 xs, Adrian flux want £950 with £400 xs (EDIT: See my new post, MORE LIKE £1525! idiots), and sky wont even quote. All of these are non-agreed value. Anyone got any better ideas? Just gets on my wick a bit that we have a club insurer that wont even quote me, yet i live in a good area and have a lot of experience with supra's/HP cars. AndrewOW
My suggestion is to wait until you're 23! Oh no Sean, and after all your hard work too. Can you keep it garaged until then? TPFT temporarily?
Sean1933
July is a long way off and TPFT is normally only on cars worth less than £5K. I could just go with Adrian Flux as the price isnt too bad, I would have just preferred to go with the club insurer and ideally i wanted agreed value as its got to be worth a pretty penny now . SteveR
sky dont do agreed value anymore chap I was quoted for it the other day, then I spoke to another chap and they said they don't do it except for continuation of policies. I suspect they would do it if you really wanted them to - Adiran Flux told me "no chance" but when I pushed them they said "oh ok then", - at no extra charge. Sean1933
Anyone got anymore ideas as i just tried to accept Adrian Flux's quote and it turned out they had quoted me on a single UK SPEC , jumped up to £1525 when i told them it was an import! Thats shockingly poo. Help help help!
Homer
£1500 sounds pretty normal to be honest. It cost £1350 to insure my single and I'm 32.
Safely Insured
I suspect they would do it if you really wanted them to Unfortunately we cannot. I have been harassing the powers that be to bring the agreed value option back or if not at least let me ( a member of staff) take advantage of it for my Mr2... Having spent nigh on £5k on restoration/respray/tuning and have another £2-3k to spend I'd like an agreed value of at least £4500 rather than the 'book price' I'd be looking at in the event of a total loss claim. Unfortunately I was told no...it is a complete no-go for new business at the moment unfortunately. Apologies Ollie Sky Insurance
Pig
Im 22 and running a T61 - i started off paying way over what you have been quoted for being single until i had more experience. Now i pay £1241 but it will come down next time providing no points or knocks.
Guest jammox
18! hoff
I think that skys policies have changed lately. But to be fair to Ollie he does seem to do his best:) In all honesty, the prices though high are not to bad. Im 27 and was paying £1280 a year for an NA until I went to sky! But I hope you get the best deal you can:)
RobD
i think ur gettin a gd deal already tbh i can see how other ppl my age can get it so cheap compare to me i have no points no claims ! 0ncb but have 2 years named driver which i think i can use from tesco! and it still quotes me over 2k! Sean1933
I will need to add a few things to the a-plan quote as when after he gave me the price he went over the mods and there were a few missing, i didnt bother adding them as i thought i had a better quote from Adrian Flux. So for now it looks like the best price is adrian flux . I have been on the phone since 6pm and nobody can help . Rob, NCD is probably the big thing effecting your quote, your age even more so. As soon as your 21 it will drop considerably...or atleast mine did. Next big drop after that is 25.
