Guest daz 6576
i will be installing my new e-manage blue ecu soon and wanted to know is it worth buying a fields harness for this as i am not too good with wiring does the harness hook straight up to eveything so i dont have to go cutting wires to install it if anyone has any info for me on this thanks
Homer
The fields harness is a must-have when using a piggy back ECU. You will still need to do extensive wiring/soldering, however the harness alows you to do this out of the car so makes life FAR easier! It also saves you from hacing to hack into the stock wiring loom.
Angarak
Out of interest, how much are field harnesses and are they easy to make as an alternative to buying one?
Muffleman
From memory aren't they best part of £200 ? You can make your own but the hard part is finding the male and female ecu connectors. It will be cheaper to buy a fields harness
Homer
Out of interest, how much are field harnesses and are they easy to make as an alternative to buying one? About £200. They are fairly simple, but you'd need to be a bit handy to make one yourself!
Angarak
Cheers Muffleman and Homer ...and sorry to hijack your thread daz 6576 ...the hard part is finding the male and female ecu connectors.. Could you not salvage second hand ones? ...or would you happen to know of a place that would sell 'new/replacement' ecu connectors? I know of autosportwiring.com (US based) who offer complete fields harness for $275 (around £136) but doubt they're suitable for a JDM. Nic
About £200. I can supply a genuine Fields harness for roughly half that price
