Kev.O
I'm trying to fit my screamer pipe. I have a SP manifold fitted with a Tial 44mm wastegate. I have bought the screamer pipe from SP which I was told was for a RHD car. I'm aware there are plenty of ways of fitting this, but I must be doing it wrong as the only way I can get the screamer pipe to fit is when it's touching the steering rack. It's hard to explain how I have fitted the wastegate so here's a few pictures. I have also included a picture of the screamer pipe so hopefully someone can confirm it'll fit a RHD car. bignum
Can you not turn the actual wastegate so the screamer points down further back.
Kev.O
Do you mean towards the back of the car? If so then it means the screamer pipe flange is above the steering rack, meaning it wont go on . Thanks for replying though
Kev.O
Does anyone else have any ideas please?
kylestt
Can you turn the gate in picture 2 to the right and then rotate the pipe a bit after its mounted? It would change the angle drastically with both little movements i'd think. just a thought but like we discussed, i think you may have tried this? Not being very familiar with RHD models, where do most dump the screamer pipe out? Is this the common place?
Kev.O
Same problem Kyle, if I move the flange towards the wing at all, the screamer pipe no longer fits. This is the only place I can get the pipe to mate up properly. I was hoping someone might have a picture of their wastegate and pipe fitted or maybe a picture of just the pipe

I was hoping someone might have a picture of their wastegate and pipe fitted or maybe a picture of just the pipe I had a simirlar problem where my screamer exited onto the wishbone, Temporarily i wrapped aluminium around the wishbone but now i have re-fabricated it into the exhaust. I found a long screamer made a very loud wooshing noise drowning out the lush sound of the turbo and induction noise. Also too noisy for track days and the neighbourhood. A lil old lady nearly fell off the pavement the other day There seemed to be no loss in power
bondango
Kev it may be a case of forgetting about the pipe you have now and getting a custom one made. Basically rotate the wastgate and visualize the path of a new dump pipe until you have idea of a route that will work. you can use a bit of wire to get an idea of the bends and direction you need Marty

I already have a spare flange so I can get one custom pipe made locally once the car is back on the road. Thanks for the replies guys.
uk-rich
i have a custom set-up so i made it to clear ok, it only looks like you need a slight adjustment on there really, i'd remove the wrap, cut out a sliver from the pipe and get it fitting perfect, then re weld i hope you know what i mean from this

Sean1933
Looks like it needs cutting and rewelding. I assume it was designed to come out exactly where the steering rack is typical! On a slight highjack note, where did you get the heatwrap from, could do with redoing mine and yours looks very neat! How much did you get also, i would probably end up with not enough
mikeyb10supra
or some gentle knocks with a hammer to give it some shape was going to suggest similar, but a more subtle approach he he how about taking it to a pipe benders and giving it an inch or so bend

I believe it could do with being a little longer aswell. or some gentle knocks with a hammer to give it some shape That's another way Looks like it needs cutting and rewelding. How much did you get also, i would probably end up with not enough I bought it from this company on ebay. I was very impressed with the quality of the service and the product, highly recommended. was going to suggest similar, but a more subtle approach he he how about taking it to a pipe benders and giving it an inch or so bend I would definatley need to get it made longer if I bent it more. It might be worth taking the new flange to somewhere like long life and using this pipe as a template and go from there.
Sean1933
Nice one thanks mate! Any idea how much you would need to do a downpipe, and/or a manifold? Trying to decide if i should bother doing the manifold!

Trying to decide if i should bother doing the manifold! I used 50' of 1" to do the manifold and used 50' of 2" to do my 4" downpipe.
