Harps
After looking forward to an afternoon watching footie and the F1, my bloody Sky box has just packed up. I've tried switching it on and off again, but the stupid thing just sits there mocking me with a red light. Any ideas on what to do? I might try hitting it if it doesn't work after switching it on and off again
Ewen
Could be the batteries in the Sky remote ?
Harps
They seem fine - the light on the remote lights up, as does the light on the Sky box. Nothing else happens though

Ewen
Maybe the remote has lost contact with the box, Cant remember how to fix this, but theres a wodge of info on the net. Or, heaven forbid, watch it on Terrestrial ?
broomie
mine does this all the time! usually removing a battery from the remote and then putting it back in does the job!
Harps
Removing the batteries didn't help - but blow me if its just come back to life on its own. and its the 90th fecking minuite
Lewis
I had this last week. 1- power of box at the plug 2- turn back on 3- hold down power button on the top of the box until you hear the harddrive whirring 4- let go 5- quick press the power button and wait a few secs Mines an HD box but it sorted it straight out. Happened to my mum on the same day 200miles away so I wondered if it was a dodgy firmware update or something?! Hope it helps
