lee_kelsey
Guys, Have a clifford concept alarm, and it seems to have developed a problem! It is supposed to chirp twice upon locking and once when unlocked, and the indicators flash accordingly. However it started to chirp quietly and now doesn't chirp at all, that is until I have run the car for a bit and it works fine. Automatically I assumed that it may be a problem with the battery being low, however the car starts without any problem, and i would assume starting would require more power than an audible alarm function. Any ideas?
Digsy
Do these alarms use an internal rechargable battery to sound the chirp? If so it sounds like it may be losing its ability to hold a charge after the car is switched off. Doesn't make much sense to me though because it is still connected to the car supply. What you need is a car security / audio whiz. I think there's one being run ragged in the Sound Systems forum right now!
Bradb
You've probably changed the setting sby accident. Mine used to do that. Its easily solvable if ya know what ya doing. I got a clifford guy to sort it. 1 minute
WILLGILL
I have a concept 600 on my car and I buggered up the chirp setting the other day, its all to easy to do if you happen to press the "feature" button on your controller, this is easy to do coz its located on the side of the unit, so maybe your button is stuck in?? Matt Harwood
Go to the top of the class Darren, you were very close The Clifford battery-back-up sirens use their own internal power to give arm/disarm chirps. This is to give you an idea of when the internal batteries are running out. (they use the vehicles battery power if the alarm triggers, so you can't test it that way. - If you disconnect the cars battery with the alarm armed, it should only change tone slightly, if after a few seconds it starts getting quieter, it's definatly a siren/battery problem) Clifford don't sell the battery pack replacements, you have to get a new siren, but I would think you could probably take the siren apart and replace them yourself. They are only lithium packs like the ones cordless phones use. Some of the Concept range have different chirp settings - Loud, soft, silent. If you've inadvertantly selected soft chirps, you'd know about it as they change pich quite a lot at the same time.
