Phil Wall
According to MKIV. Com, when removing the number one cat the nuts 90179-10070 and gasket 90917-06043 should be changed. It this necessary or just a wise precaution? I was going to take the cat out this morning, but have not got the new parts. Help!!!! or I will have to do some gardening!!!! Guest Martin F
Looks like catch 22!! Can't tell whether it needs replacing until you have undone everything, by that time it's a bit late. Biggest problem will probably be getting the nuts un-done.
Alex
Have some spare nuts after all they don't cost that much. My mate used gasket paste stuff on the downpipe at both ends and then Chris's hand made gasket went between the front decat and the Super Drager Cat-back...we didn't snap a nut but it was a garage with a full compliment of air tools... I think he said the nuts were the type that dig in if they start to come loose so he could only have got them off cleanly with an air gun as its quick enough to prevent the nuts from digging in....if you get my drift....
