boxst
Hello I've been trying to sell my Supra for a few weeks (not on here admittedly) and it just appears to be a struggle. I'm probably asking too much money, but expected a bit more interest and then some negotiation. But nope. This has been my car for 8 years (it's a 98 Twin Turbo) and I still think of Supra's as great cars that everyone should want. Is that not true and I'm just living a bit in my own world? JamieP
Hi, everything sells at the right price, post up a link to your ad:)
boxst
Thanks for the quick reply. I wont post the ad as it is probably against a bunch of rules, but someone could give me an idea of a realistic price. It is a 1998 Twin Turbo with 122K (the problem I expect, although they are all motorway miles). simbasupra
not sure price wise but the photo isn't doing it justice. are you advertising with this photo? maybe clean the wheels up a bit as they let the car down.
Pete
I wont post the ad as it is probably against a bunch of rules That's correct, you need to be a member to post your advert. It's only a tenner and you'll be posting it out to lots of Supra heads who will be interested in a black facelift.
JamieP
This is yours i take it? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/400738.htm Then compare to this with half the miles and a lot less money, sorry to be harsh but there is so many for sale they have to be priced right if you want a sale:) http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/356589.htm
Nic
Steve, if you pay a tenner for membership you can advertise it in the classifieds section on the forum, cheap price to pay for a captive audience of Supra enthusiasts. Looks like a nice clean un-abused example, the 98 VTTi is also a relatively rare model, is it manual or auto? Pete
One reason you've not sold it is the terrible wording. Either its me or you haven't even specified the transmission type? Either way is way over priced. I really ought to be deleting this thread as it's an attempt at a sale without paying. I'll give you 10 more mins for discussion then it's going. [edit] It went and came back as he joined.

To be fair to him i asked him to post details then i posted the link, he has not got much chance selling at that price anyhow:)
tooquicktostop
I would say its worth about 5K-6K in the current market, maybe a little bit more if its a manual

boxst
Okay, thanks. It wasn't an attempt to sell here. Wow, £6K. I do live in a dream world then! For that I guess I'll keep it. Thanks for the input, Steve.
Sheefa
Okay, thanks. It wasn't an attempt to sell here. Wow, £6K. I do live in a dream world then! For that I guess I'll keep it. Thanks for the input, Steve. Afraid so Steve, many sell for less too. I waited a good 3 months before I had any 'real' buyers lined up and must of sold at just the right time. I'd say £6k is about right. Good luck. Greg
Guigsy
looks like a nice example. obviously well looked after and a rare model. Id definately pay and advertise on here. But at a more realistic price and let is know what the transmision is! Should be snapped up at the right price. its hard to find a clean example of these cars now
Rayman
I think the lack or transmission being noted is big problem, im mean its like the biggest thing to put on your advert, some people are anti-auto. Im guessing its a manual?
Pabs
I'd pay the tenner just to be a member of here - regardless of if you're selling or not - I know I've learned a lot from this club so far and soo much more to learn Then you've still got the option to sell if you want - alternatively find some nice "extras" for the car hehe
boxst
It is a 6 speed manual VVTi. Thanks, Steve
JamieP
It is a 6 speed manual VVTi. Thanks, Steve Being a six speed means its worth more than a auto and is a good selling point you should advertise:)
hogmaw
It is a 6 speed manual VVTi. Thanks, Steve You should sell that no problem if you advertise it as such! You know how rare they are?!
Havard
Being a six speed means its worth more than a auto and is a good selling point youy should advertise:) Basics of selling - put in as much info as possible!! When I was looking for mine, any advert that was "brief" I never even considered, although the car could have been mint... H.
gaz1
i would have thought 7-8k easily even with the mileage, whats 100k on a 3000cc over designed engine;)
Rayman
The pro's then, its 6 spd, facelift, black. These are huge selling points imo. The cons are high mileage and price. Adjust your price, TT's manual fetch around 10K average. You also need to mention more about service history etc, remember these cars are over 10yrs old now and a well maintained supra will sell for more. Selling your car isnt just about the car anymore you need to put more work into your advert.
Rich
I would think you are looking at 10k,edit your advert and add in that it is 6speed manual.(its a very good selling point!)
Ian W
As has been noted already the pluses are it's black, facelift, manual and vvti with negatives being the mileage only as far as I can see. It's worth more than £6k imho and you should be looking for closer to £8k depending on how quick you wanted to sell. HTH
colsoop
Do a decent advert,a few sentences aren't going to cut it if you want people to come and see it You have owned the car for 8 years so you have a good folder of receipts, list some of the service intervals, take pics of your receipt folder, show people that you look after the car. A proper advert would be something like this: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1793251&postcount=1 Or this http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1793251&postcount=
