Pot
Last night I DL'd a trial version of 'MGTEK dopisp' which allows you to sync your iPod to WMP11, and it does work, the cover flow works even better IMO (But could be as I've got all of my album art sorted on WMP 11, for a PC based player, it's fantastic) The only problem I have with it is with iTunes, I can play from my iPod, which I do at work, I'd only get told off for having a bit of software on my PC rather than 8gb of MP3's... If you only want it to add tracks to your iPod, I'd recommend it, I think it's only $20 for the full version...
supra steveo
all i really want to do is put all my CDs on to a PC program that can sync the ipod but it stores them by there CD cover and double tap to open the album, then just tick the albums i want, i seen something like this on one of my mates PCs but hes been posted out now and i can get intouch with him

Recognise... - Therefore your 'busted' is not applicable, my assumingly incorrect friend - In face, the P to the OT, obtained the aforementioned album of the spears to teh B to satisfy the needs of a chicklady of the finest, and realised, check it westside recognised the desires of the ladie 's from the a... supra steveo
so how will you put the tunes on to your ipod anyway ?
Pot
It's simple, see on the left of my pic (Under the Britney album on the left hand menu), you get another section for the iPod, and on the right is an area with how much space you've got left, and an area for syncing... The only problem I can see is you can't play back the tunes from the iPod, at work I've got iTunes (Which I'm not supposed to have installed) on my laptop, which I connect my Nano too and play via the PC, I can control what's playing via my logitech keyboard which is a bit more professional hitting one of 2 buttons on a keyboard rather than finding 1 button on an external nano... (Another reason why my boss doesn't mind me playing happy hardcore at full whack throughout the day with my deskphone routed to my mobile just so I can see when I get a call ) - I'm such a bad employee... Actually no I'm not
Hermit
I use Anapod Explorer - it does a pretty good job of making an iPod seem more like a file-system based player. It lets me just drag folders (albums) to my iPod, creating a playlist for each folder as it does it. Of course, all the other iPod navigation works as well, but if your mp3s aren't all well tagged, playlists can be really useful.
Pete
iTunes is fine, but does have some odd quirks. Mine was doing what you said on one album - I had to change the album title or artist for all of them by putting a '1' on the end of it, then returning it back without the one sorted it! Only happened twice. Weird. I love that you can now highlight and alter the properties of lots of tunes at once to say change the album title for them all. Pete
so if i am using windows what is the best, windows media player? I'm pretty sure WMP won't support it - I think you're still going to end up using iTunes. I expect someone with more knowledge of using iPods on Windows will drop by shortly and tell me otherwise. I don't use WMP or iTunes. I've tried various programs that 'manage' mp3s, but I don't find them to be much of an improvement over just using folders in an organised way. I use WinAMP as a player. Anapod does what I want, it has features that I've never used or even looked at so I don't know if it will do what steveo wants. I use playlists, which keeps an album's tracks together for 'various' albums where the artist is different on each track, or even for albums that don't have any, or have bad, tags. Alternatively, editing/fixing the mp3 tags might get iTunes to behave as desired... that's very time-consuming though!
