are you fitting the 1st cat?

To be honest for the grief it could give you ide pay it mate..

If the nuts pick up like they usually do and ruin the thread youll be stuck without a car and a much larger bill to get a garage to sort it.. If the studs start spinning youll be in a hole world of poo as you wont be able to see anything unless the cars above your head..

Just my 2p :D

I agree 50 quid is good compared to a few hours lying under the motor gearbox against your nose and fiddling about trying to get the right socket/ext combi without ruining the nut.

Again I have to agree to paying someone changing the 1st cat, mine had seized and they had to use some thing to melt the bolts out... The second is a piece of cake and easy to do yourself.

£50 is good!

However, if they are anything like most places they will sheer/strip a bolt and bodge it up.

Iv done several now for local lads, always use a little plusgas (NOT WD40) and a breaker bar to apply pressure gently - NOT shocking it off or using an air ratchet like they will!

i had to get a blow lamp on the nuts for the first cat nearest the engine. Get them red hot and you need about 1 1/2 foot extension to get up to the nuts from underneath and a decent breaker bar (but the breaker bar cant be too long as there isnt allot of room under the car to play with)

All done today. Lucky enough the nuts came off fairly easy.

Only problem I did have was that the decat is shorter than the cat so it wouldn't join back up properly with the exhaust. So I made a thicker spacer at work and now its sorted. :)

Just need to get boost controller setup now.
