Havard
My dad has been looking for a prestige car in the last few days. He's seen a CLK Merc on an 04 plate for £14k at a local dealers. I reckoned I could get him a newer car for less money!! I then found this on Pistoneheads......... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/407406.htm There was no contact number or area details which made me suspicious. I e-mailed the guy and asked him questions about the car. I have now had the following e-mails....... Hello again, I am glad to know that you are looking forward regarding this deal. As it's impossible to meet, I prefer to make the transport through a company that's based close to where I live. They offers also an exchange protection service. You will make the payment into Magyar Spedition's trustee bank account. The payment is kept there until you receive and accept the car. I will sign for a 5-day inspection period. I hope it's enough for you to check it with your mechanic and to check the papers with DVLA or with your local dealer. I am confident that you will love the car, but if, for any reason you will be not pleased with it's condition you will be fully refunded and and my car will be taken back by the transport company. Again, I am sure this will not be the case, as the car is in perfect order. How will you arrange transport etc. Paul -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: removed [mailto:removed] Sent: 10 March 2008 15:42 To: Paul Havard Subject: Re: '2005 MERCEDES-BENZ CLK 240 Avantgarde Auto' at PistonHeads.com Hello, The 2005 MERCEDES-BENZ CLK 240 Automatic you shown interest in is still available for 11,700 pounds. The car is in excellent overall condition, is accident free and never smoked into. I have just moved to Hungary. The car is here in Hungary with me as well, but I arranged the transport back to UK. It is still registered in the UK and you will not be liable of any Custom or import duties. If you are interested I will provide more info in order to proceed. Thank you, Andre I am not touching this with the proverbial barge pole but has anyone else had this? H.

Havard
Nope, it's still on PH at the moment When you do a new search on PH there is no CLK for that price. Although if you click on the link in this thread it looks as if it is still there. Is this another case of PEBKAC?? H.

To proceed we need to setup the transaction. For this, please register on http://www.magyarspedition.com (website of the transport company), read their exchange protection program section, and let me know so I can post the transaction for us."
