Is this correct - as I need it for a piece of work I am doing - or is 'Indian speaking' acceptable Cheers Paul To me it dont sound non pc, just clumsy/humorous. I think of the indians in the wildwest.

Pete
It's Political Correctness gone mad. If someone were to make a racist claim about the phrase "speaking Indian" then they really must have nothing better to do. It's not even worth a conversation about it IMHO. Pete
and why don't people from pakistan like being called p@ki's and japannese like being called jap's I can understand that as those terms are used in a derogatory way.
johnny g
Like us people from Liverpool being called Scousers. The Newcastle being Geordie - where does it end?

CJ
Exactly, that's the point. But being called a Scouser or a Geordie isn't derogatory. I agree with Pete here in that when people call others "Paki's" or "Jap's" they usually use the term in a nasty manner.

Not really, I mean if you say you have a jap car or your T.V was made by the Japs I don't really see that your saying it in an ill manner, If anything it's the complete opposite. But you can do that regardless of an abriviation. i.e. those f**cking slanty eyed Japannese people. Disclaimer : the above comment is not my personel view of the Japannese but merely an example.
