FA Cup weekend

CJ

Recommended Posts

Well, yesterday threw up some unexpected results with superb wins for Portsmouth and more especially Barnsley and today looks to be following suit with Cardiff leading Middlesbrough 2-0 at half time.

If that result stays as is we will have 3 non premiership teams in the semis with a guarantee of at least one in the final. :)

I had a tenner on one of the big 4 not winning the FA cup this year.... result :)

That was a brave bet - I am not sure I would have been confident with that one. As an aside, what sort of odds did they give you on that? I wonder if Jake had money on Pompey yesterday?

I was pleased and gutted that barnsley won yesterday. I'm pleased they won but Look North had been going on about Barnsley all week and it was driving me mad... Looks like it will continue.

I watched it at a bar on Kos yesterday after seeing the 2 rugby games before. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon. :D

I think Barnsley will fancy it now. Good luck to them.

(p.s. CJ that avatar of yours is damn annoying.... can't you just pause it on the pic of the attractive lady in the corset... thanks :) )

I have tried (for research purposes only you understand) but cannot get the damn thing to stop blinking ;)

It's certainly been an unusual weekend, and fair play to Cardiff, Pompey and Barnsley...

I was out in Bridlington last night and bumped into some Barnsley fans who were at the game, I pointed out I'm a Liverpool fan as I congratulated them, fair play, they're over the moon, and they should be :)

If I wasn't a WBA fan I'd be backing Barnsley all the way.

Any Championship team that beats Liverpool and Chelski along the way deserve to win the cup.

The draw threw up:

Portsmouth v WBA

Barnsley v Cardiff

What's your thoughts friend?

More giant killing would be good:)

This is how they got there -

Barnsley

Third round: Barnsley 2-1 Blackpool

Fourth round: Southend 0-1 Barnsley

Fifth round: Liverpool 1-2 Barnsley

Quarter-finals: Barnsley 1-0 Chelsea

Cardiff

Third round: Chasetown 1-3 Cardiff

Fourth round: Hereford 1-2 Cardiff

Fifth round: Cardiff 2-0 Wolves

Quarter-finals: Middlesbrough 0-2 Cardiff

Portsmouth

Third round: Ipswich 0-1 Portsmouth

Fourth round: Portsmouth 2-1 Plymouth

Fifth round: Preston 0-1 Portsmouth

Quarter-finals: Manchester United 0-1 Portsmouth

WBA

Third round: Charlton 1-1 West Brom

Third round replay: West Brom 2-2 Charlton (West Brom won 4-3 on penalties)

Fourth round: Peterborough 0-3 West Brom

Fifth round: Coventry 0-5 West Brom

Quarter-finals: Bristol Rovers 1-5 West Brom

We've done ok so far considering we've been drawn away in every round. We've nothing to fear, we're the under dogs.

I think both semi's will be good games.:)
