merckx
My mates PC keeps freezing, I decided to Format the hard disc to get rid of all the crap and then re-install everything. I've got everything working okay, but the Internet Service that he's using is Tiscali dial-up and he cannot find a disc. Can I download the software needed onto my PC, then put it on a CD or do I need to get an Original Tiscali Disc? If I need a disc, can I get one locally or do I have to contact Tiscali? I suppose if I had his Username, Password and the Dial Up number could I obtain the connection using Windows ME. Cheers
JustGav
You could just use a free internet service.. I use connectfree purely for my emerency ones... 08456621506 any username and passsword... think they charge 1p/minute... Good as a temp solution. merckx
Only trouble is , my mate uses the Email address to communicate with work. He might be reluctant to change it, I'll suggest it. Cheers
geoffvalenti
If you've got his user name, password and the dial up number, you can make the connection in Dial up Networking. Then get onto the Tiscali web site, make a note of the POP3 and SMTP server names. Make a new email account in Outlook Express with these server settings and thats it sorted. I'll always set up connections manually if possible. When you use the ISP CDs they can stick a load of crap on the machine that you don't need.
