123tom123tom
i have got a slight problem with a rattle/tinny noise coming from what sounds like the down pipe just below the turbo, cant narrow it to a pinpoint though and it only seems to do it at about 1500-2500 rpm, there is no restiction in the exhaust system apart from the 1.2rr i have fitted a new o2 sensor about 2 weeks ago (could it be that leaking not sealed prop, would it make that kind of noise) regards tom
ShamelessTT
I have a similar issue, only between those RPMs.
Nic
Possibly loose heat shield, loose bolt or cat breaking up inside. These will usually resonate at a certain rpm.
JODY T
check the piston coming out of the actuator down there.. Ive know these to rattle a little at that RPM..
rick001
Not saying its this but worth a look, mine had a similar rattle and on inspection found it to be the exhaust supprt bracket to the gear box has snapped causing a tinny rattling at certain revs -

Chris Wilson
TTC can cause the exhaust diverter valve to rattle and eventually break. Solenoid problems can do the same, check to see if the arm is rattling on the diverter valve when the noise occurs.
