Harps
Apologies if its a stupid question, but I know less about 200's than I do about Supra's. If you install a decat pipe do you need to fit a Restrictor Ring to stop it overboosting? Cheers in advance Harps
steb9780
A good forum for the 200SX's is the owners club http://www.sxoc.com IIRC
SMiFFAD
Nope - unless your running a really free flowing exhaust, and depending on how and iff your controlling your boost. If your running standard boost, no problem, decat and forget. If your running anything near a bar, you may hit boost cut on cold day or if you suddenly floor it, due to less resistance in the exhaust it can boost spike. Even then you dont need a ring, just wind the boost down a touch. Whats the spec of the sx? s13/14/a? full decat or just one?
Harps
Cheers guys, its for a friend of mine who's just fitted a boost gauge - its boosting up to 20psi. The problem may well be with the fitting of the gauge, but I'll see if I can get a bit more info. Though the boost cut is a very good suggestion, I'd not thought of that (hardly surprising! ) The 200 in question is a S14a
