stuohy
Just realised... better not post this just yet Does anyone have any idea if my car is written off, how long the insurance co take to sort it out, and what I can do about my plates? I know I have to get them off there somehow....
ivan
Must have been something flippin' big to do that sort of damage and drive away. Any witnesses? Bad luck fella.

stuohy
I haven't had the heart to take any pics at the moment I realised that I probably shouldn't put any details up until it is sorted out with the insurance co...
Guest torque monster
If the car is still taxed and MOT'd I think you can just apply for a plate transfer in the normal manner, and the wreck (sorry to put it this way) just gets a period plate reassigned by DVLA. If it's then written off, the reassigned plate goes back into the pool. My local DVLA only inists upon seeing the donor vehicle about 1 time in 10, so I think you should have a decent chance to get your plates off. Just my two penneth. Every insurance co is different, worst I had was 6 months, depends on the assessor involved.
