MrRalphMan
Just seen this little baby in Asda's, all I can see is one down side.. It's not multi region and I cannot find a hack at the moment... On it's up side, it does the following.. Upscales to 1080p Plays Divx and Xvid files Cheap Um...... That's it really.. Oh and you can get 2 for £40.. Anyone in Essex wanna go sharesies
adam bell
it will be poorly made last 5 mins will give a poor picture playback because of cheap components etc. just because its 1080p outout doesnt mean the image quality will be amazing compared to a player like a denon that does 1080p as well they still perform different. would you by cheap parts for your supra because it done the same job as a more expensive well known brand but be of poor build quality
MrRalphMan
It's got some good write ups on it's quality, so not too worried there... Of course there is a performance difference, but for what is throw away money, why not give it a go.. if it's really pants I'll take it back.. Also it's not the same really as if the DVD player goes wrong or breaks down, I can just chuck it... It's not going to cause me to be stuck in the middle of nowhere or flip me off the road into a ditch or tree....

MrRalphMan
These are made by Dual and in a black box?
Snooze
If you have a 1080p TV, I expect it has a damn sight better upscaler than a £25 DVD player. So iI would advocate checking that you can turn off the upscaling and just output 576.......
IDO
These are made by Dual and in a black box? yep then them.. strange price difference? they were marked up as "was£25 now £20" so assume they are the same one.. they were dule, black box.. think the player was black with white text looked like quite a compact player as well, one of my mate from work got one so i'll wait to see what he thinks about it.. MrRalphMan
That's why they are so cheap... Asda's bought em in and found out they are not multi region.. A quick unload needed..

MrRalphMan
Nope, as I think Asda found out to their cost... Now looking at DVD recorders that upscale... pipe dreams the lot...
