Tee from China
Noticed the other day that there is a damper mounted on the front of the turbo engine which apparently is only fitted to manual versions. Can anyone explain why only manuals have this and therefore if someone converts an auto to manual should this be fitted also?
Ian C
I believe, oh fonty one, that it stops the belt jumping off in overrev situations by someone dropping into say 2nd instead of 4th by accident. -Ian

If it's a support system for a manual gearbox overrev situation then I would have thought I'd have given you enough info to make the decision yourself Either fit it, or make sure you don't overrev by fumbling a gearchange. Bit like ABS and airbags and a fuel cutoff system - don't have them if you don't want to, but make sure you don't crash
