Chris Wilson
Be lucky, it may just be a seized wastegate piston I hope it is just that. Doubt your luck will hold though, unless you address all the issues you need to by going single.
Terminator
At the very least run a compression test before you do anything else.
Ian C
Me oh my running a single turbo on stock everything. http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1777768&postcount=4 http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1777916&postcount=7 Advising against that is a witchhunt remember because it will work and nothing will go wrong. I wonder why I bothered http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1778808&postcount=27 Was it to desperately try and stop someone ruining their engine? *gives up* -Ian
Lee P
Thats way too much boost for that turbo on stock fuel, give it a full check over before doing anything else. If you wanted to run it for a while on stock fuel you should have changed the wastgate spring to .5 or .8 bar max. You may have done some serious damage there. Alex
Have you paid Tony and Simon yet? Can't see what is ignorant about his post...he's pointed out that people have said it's ok to do and now the bloke has broken his engine. Maybe you have a spare engine he could have? Lee P
Basically, if your not sure what your doing. DON'T TOUCH IT! Take it to someone who does or seak serious advice first. And yes it is stupid to stick a big turbo on a stock car and rag it down the road. Its not quite as black and white as people make out. Anything is possible with the right combination of mods and lots of care.

Can't see what is ignorant about his post...he's pointed out that people have said it's ok to do and now the bloke has broken his engine. Maybe you have a spare engine he could have? oh shut up you idiot that has nothing to do with you for starters or this thread really Alex as a mod you should no better, have you brought a supra yet? The links Ian posted have nothing to do with this no where in those threads do myself or Lee say you can slap on a stupidly big turbo on a stock block stock fueling stock ecu and run over 1.2 bar of boost get your head out your arse Ian is totally right this setup and boost should never be tested But with a sensiable turbo and boost settings yes it will run along just fine not saying its ideal but everything in moderation can be done

I dont agree with this either....one essential part of being on this forum is to not listen to a lot of the shite that get banded about, ive never taken anything said on this forum as gospel unless its from a few people ive got to know and trust ie people like yourself, Ian C, Tony License, CW, Terry S etc at the start I read and read and read, and didnt take peoples word for things until I was sure they knew what they were talking about. This guy obviously hasn't The guy didnt need to take advice from Wayne or whoever it was that posted, and in a sense the car prob would have been alright to drive off boost as a lot of us would know, by the sounds of it, the guy in question has not done his research before and regardless of what advice he has taken its looks like it was always gonna cost him
