just took out my single turbo for the first time and it seemed to be fine at first and sounding awesome

after putting my foot down a few times car sounded like a tractor and its still sounding very loud.

the noise is coming from the wastegate with the screamer pipe on it.

could it be stuck open ?

How much boost was it making before the problem happened?

Will it still make boost now? Or won't it rev high enough?

Are you the guy that is planning on fitting a TO4R and running it with stock fuelling, injectors, ECU etc ?

possibly but the noise is just coming from the screamer pipe.

suppose the only way to find out is to take off the wastegate and have a look if its stuck.

thanks for your help anyways

He keeps asking questions, but doesnt listen to people. If it is an xs-power wastegare then they are prone to sticking open when under heat. A way to sort it i have heard is to slightly ground down the piston of the wastegate but would just get a different one if i was you.

the car is not being run until it gets all other supporting mods such as an ecu and all the fueling ect

so its not going to blow

So you don't think it's blown already? Despite not having any idea of how rich or lean you've just had it when running at 18psi, no idea of what the exhaust gas temperatures were, and now the addition of the fact that it's running like a bag of shite?

Hmmmm. I don't know if it's blind optimism or blisful ignorance....

Personally, I think you've already fecked it, so you might as well run the nuts off it. Either way you'll probably end up having to strip it down. If not, who know's the problem "might just go away".
