ShamelessTT
Im glad someone asked this, im going to be buying a set of new tyres myself soonish and was pretty much set on r888's as i want to use them for both road and track, unless theres any better alternatives for a good medium between road and track. gaz1
a qoute from c.w Best are Michelin Pilot Sport Cups, then the Pirelli P-Zero Corsa, and a distant third the R888 from Toyo, which are really too soft and have appalling wet weather grip, not that any of them have GOOD wet weather grip
ShamelessTT
Hmmm doh , id never even consider Michelins lol. Back to the search i think!

Chris Wilson
The tyres I were on about are specialised road legal race tyres, hence the "Cup" bit. I wasn't recommending any particular Michelin road tyre, although I have found them generally excellent tyres on most cars.
phat supra
going by the title 888s you mean track tyres not really going to be doing much track but just wanted the most grip as i could get for on the road wet and dry also some think thats going to last longer than half a year thanks
Chris Wilson
If you want wet grip you don't want any of the track day specials, they all have too big a tread block, too hard a compound, and not enough sipes for wet road usage. OK for driving carefully to a circuit and hoping it's not persisting down when you get there, but hopeless in standing water on the M1.
