Missile Posted March 4, 2008 Share Posted March 4, 2008 Left work last night with a huge footfull of gas which resulted with the back end popping out and a bit of wheel spin, I had to get out in traffic quite quick as i had been sitting waiting for a gap for ages. Anyway road was slippery for about 10 feet then its all painted in the grippy stuff. When i drove over that it gain grip and snapped back really quick. Anyway, My prob is, When driving in a straight line all seems fine, But going round corners it clonks like made, Almost as if cogs are slipping of missing, This morning it even did it whilst driving in a straight line. Im guessing this could well be a diff prob, I swear its been making a slight buzzing / whistling noise for a while. Anyone have any ideas ??? This has happened to me twice, both times the teeth had stripped off Your best bet is to source a good second hand one or go for a TRD LSD from Nic. (5 week wait though!)... Dr_Doom Posted March 4, 2008 Share Posted March 4, 2008 I'm guessing your diff will look like the picture below when you open it up (That was Animal's when his broke!)... I've had three NA diffs and broken them all I've now got a TRD LSD on order from Nic.. They seem expensive but the amount of money i've wasted buying second hand diffs & getting them fitted, i should have just gone for the TRD in the first place! Animal Posted March 4, 2008 Share Posted March 4, 2008 Hah, I was gonna post that pic. Mine made HUGE bangs when turning at low speeds and it felt like I was driving over a brick, the rear wheel bounced that much. I don't want to upset you further, but it only lasted about 3-4 days before it fragged all the planetry gears you see in the pic. Mine was doing exactly what you just decribed about, Banging and bouncing. I turned into my road and just floored it, To my disapointment nothing happend, I hoped it would at least explode.
