Back from the Maldives...

Got back from the Maldives late on Saturday night. It was the nuts! Went to a little resort called Lily Beach (which i believe a few other members have been to) http://www.lilybeachmaldives.com/

All I can say is the place is amazing! Its going to make any other beach holiday look crap.

Most of the days was taken up by snorkling around the coral reefs, a few waters sports and being very lazy on the beach!

Have got loads more photos I can bore you with, but am waiting for the underwater pics to be developed at the moment.

the seaplane was great! i loved it. the worst flight was coming into heathrow on the way home and the pilot decided to abort the landing! scared the sh!t out of people when 500 ft from the run way all our heads are suddenly being squished into the backs of our seats!

I have better pics of me and the turtle but then i'd have to show off my white/red blotchy tan and i wouldnt want to make any one jealous!

I'll have to post some photo's from the turtle sanctuary we visited in Sri Lanka, didn't see any in the Maldives. :)

the one on the island was very small. there was a couple of tiny nippers, then some 1 & 2 year olds. then some rescued turtles that had damaged shells the poor things.

Did you have a heron? We were told that most of the islands had their own resident heron. We saw ours apparently making mating calls to a fat bald bloke sunbathing :D

Yeah saw water hens, and crows, and pigeons! No bats though. The crows in Sri Lanka were worst though, would steal the food out of your hand if you weren't careful!
