Twin Turbo 95
I made plans to import a Mk 5 twin turbo supra to South Africa but i have a small problem. A lot of the imported cars here get crushed... And i mean A LOT. on avg of 20 cars that get imported here 13 are crushed. Do you guys know of any way that i can miss this hole proses or to minimize the chance of my Supra getting crushed... Any advised will be much appreciated!

gaz1
not sure on the legalities over there, but i would think a euro spec would have more of a chance than a jspec;)
Twin Turbo 95
once i have it and im past the crushing its smooth sailing from there. mod the car. make it a code 3 and put it through the road worth test then i can drive it when and where ever i want. CJ
There are a couple of guys here that spent a long time in SA. Justgav and GrahamC sprint to mind. I would give them a shout and see if they can help. TBH, I would have thought that a car import company in SA would have been a better source of information. Twin Turbo 95
Why are most imported cars getting crushed? Jealous SA car manufacturers...? thy are just f&(^kedup! when it comes to cars SA just suckes! in durban the had a thing called operation drag racer. the smallest mod would have gotten you a ticket. rims of 17" and more would get you a ticket. this place really sucks when it comes to cars im im a petrol head speed junkie mix. i may not know everything about motors but im trying my best to learn as much as i can... about the import company... thats gonna cost a lot of money... im buying the car for R110 000 including shipping costs. Twin Turbo 95
small question... the euro version is left hand and the jap version is right handed? or is it the other way around?
JustGav
Just replied via PM, saying I've not got any experience importing cars INTO SA as the only time I've done was shipping the car back to the UK when I moved over. Probably best bet is to contact an importer in SA and see what is required.
JustGav
small question... the euro version is left hand and the jap version is right handed? or is it the other way around? You want a Jspec of a UKspec and it will be on the right side of the road....
