RedM
My problem is that when I switch the engine off, the battery light comes on but dimly (as does the digital clock). It doesn't go off until I open the door. After that it stays off. Electrics seem to work fine and the central locking works. Anyone?

What's the betting that question if posted over there is the equivalent of asking what the red button does here Well, I've had no replies yet so either it is and they just ignore FAQs or it's not and no-one knows the answer. Mike M
Not that its going to help much but my 306 used to bring on both coolings fans full speed once the ignition was turned off and would stay on till the battery was flat.

Kranz
Battery over voltage situation? Bad earth? Instrument panel voltage regulator up the spout? Poltergeist?
RedM
It's a connector on the rad that gets water in it and corrodes. This causes a short that can cause the fans to come on or, in a worst case scenario, prevent the engine from shutting down even with the key out and alarm on! I'm lucky and will get it sorted when she goes in for a service.
