New Engine break-in

Assuming it is fully mapped and you are just talkin about a mechanical break in, keep it below max torque speed for a couple of hundred miles, then change the oil. If the rings or bores are partly worn then you might want to run it in a bit harder. If the rings and bores are the same as before the rebuild then it souldn't be anywhere near as critical.

If you are talking about a fully rebuilt engine, you might want to prime the lube system first by cranking with no fuel going in. If the rings and bores are new, then consider using a semi synthetic or even mineral oil for the very first few runs. New rings won't bed in properly on fully synthetic oil, and this is usually what the OEMs do. Be careful about your turbos' lube requirements if you go this route, though.

My engine builder says the first 10 mins is the most important , he says you must NOT let it idle in this time , it s a 2 person job minimum on this initial fire up , 1 to check for leaks etc and the other on the throttle .

Millers do a running in oil to bed everything in quicker !!!
