Guest Mark Estdale
I've a NA mkiv and it eats tyres like nothing else.... so far Yokohama GPs lasted 3 months on the rear Continental Contisport Contacts lasted 5 weeks! To my mind this ain't good. Any suggestions for tyres and how long do your tyres normally last? Rear 255/40/17 Front 225/50/17 I just want something that will last long and stick to the road rain, shine and snow! What in YHO are the daddies? mawby
I've always gone for Bridgestone SP03's. But I'd like to know why you are eating through tyres that quick. Is it even wear? Do you like making the tyres smoke at every set of traffic lights!?!?!
SimonB
I had Contis on mine when I bought it, and they lasted over 15,000 miles and a track day!
adi2009
NA's cant burn 235/50/17 so definately aint gonna burn 255's. i really cant think of any possilbe problem except wheel balancing. but just make sure that ur supplier isnt giving you all the old stock of tyres. I completely agree with adi2009. Nothing to do with the tires, but with setting of the wheels.

Really good traction - makes the car feel much better..! You mean Goodyear Eagle F1s I think. They are very good, that's what I've had on mine the last couple of times. Fairly cheap too compared to some.
CJ
I have tried several tyres on mine and Eagle F1's would be my choice.

suprabrown
I can vouch for michelin pilot sports, good price, grip and wear rate. I've had em on my mkiii for years. I will be putting them on the mkiv when it needs new rubber........ my friend has them on his mkiv no complaints there either cheers

Has it been lowered? Yes to both = needs the geometry resetting, and i do NOT mean just the toe settings... or putting back to stock ride height. Do you like making the tyres smoke at every set of traffic lights!?!?! Just checked, the wear is actually worse on the outside. As I paid for the wheels balancing and set up when I changed the tyres. So I guess I need to find a garage that really knows what to do. Can anyone recommend a good Supra friendly garage in/near North Yorkshire? hadyn
it has to be tyre wear caused by altering the geometry usually through lowering the car too much and not adjusting the camber

Chris Wilson
I specialise in suspension maufacture and set up, and know the MKIV intimately. You could consider a trip over, address code is in my sig below?
