Sharpie
Ohwww. I want them. Can you catch them and I'll take them to a nice little home? Just for you
Sharpie
you bought a house right in the middle of the country...........and dont want wildlife NOOOO I just object to them digging a warren 3m from the kitchen window when I have plans for that area of the garden. Of all the places in my garden to choose from......no, not 25m away from the house out the way but 3m I have fields all around me and it has to choose 3m away from the house. SupraStar 3000
Put out some cabbage, carrots and lettuce every morning. Rabbits can't stand the stuff and will soon fly away.
keancy
Get your Missus to shave all your hair off and sprinkle it around where the Rabbit likes to dig. Failing that go to your local Hairdressers and ask them for cuttings as apparently Rabbits do not like Hair. I have previously used some on fresh seedlings in my Garden and it did work. Wind will eventually blow it away tho
The Raven
When they get mixy and bash their wee tiny brains out on a rock you will feel bad. Ours get it some years and other years not. Thats when we call the people in to get rid.

Vile sound isnt it....I remember one year they where everywhere, running around the fields like headless chickens dog killed loads. Then we called the guy in to kill the rest. I always go out when they come.

My Father-in-Law use to just break their necks which is the right thing to do but I can't.

Chris Wilson
The black one is definitely not an indigenous wild rabbit, it's an interloper or a mongrel, it's your DUTY to rid the rabbit population of this mutant It's probably not someone's pet, but the offspring of it. You could hit the bloody thing with a catapult at that range Peter, or even lasso it it's also overweight, just what have got under the slab, some hidden takeaways? Chris Wilson
Seriously though, a cup of diesel works brilliantly, they won't dig near contaminated soil as it gets in the fur and they are ostracised by the rest of their warren. merckx
Trap it, snare it, shoot it, poison it or set a good dog on it, that's about it really. I thought you liked animals?

Chris Wilson
I thought you liked animals? Rabbits are vermin when in excessive numbers, they just make a real mess and can be a menace with machinery dropping into burrows, or cattle damaging legs down rabbit holes. I do love animals, but some are best viewed through a telescopic sight, or through the glass of the oven door
Guest Artermis
a 2.2 air rifle at close range will stop em if you get a good shot, or at least slow it down sufficiently for you to be able to get it and dispatch it properly. however if you really want to do the job properly a shotgun is indeed the way forward, should sort them out no problem. i can understand the problem, rabbits really can make a mess of your garden very quickly, although some care should be taken with a shotgun, as you could end up turning your garden into something resembling the somme, which isnt good if you have a nice lawn. if i were you, i'd get on top of the problem NOW, as spring is coming, and we all know what that means...... I don't have any diesel but, I'm sure a cup full from the 1000 ltrs of Kerosene in the garden will do the trick. I'm overweight also (All these pies living up north) so, I can't see me getting close with a shovel in my hand
buster
i used to go shooting all the time close range shotgun shot one hit dead its not till ya get over 40 to 50 yards that u got to grab twist and pull to sort them out air rife at max of 20 yards with the right shot will do it just make sure it dont run off hate to see rabbits in pain for too long thats un humane
Chris Wilson
Managed to shoot 5 squirrels today, the darned things are eating through the aviaries top woven nylon mesh to get to the bird food, I spent 3 hours the other afternoon "darning" the nets. Another damned nuisance animal, and they are breeding early this year.
keancy
Does one of you want to come and shot dead that f****** mole that's been digging my lawn up for the last 2 months now please??? My garden looks like a minefield and we have a claw in to kill it which we have religiously moved into the newest hole and he never goes back to the same hole until we have shifted the claw on. Clever, annoying little shi*bag he is.

Chris Wilson
We have 32 mole traps laid currently, the field we bought was the mole equivalent of Sangatte, an embarkation point for the things bound for our front garden. FINDING 32 traps when the cows have nosed around the tiles that mark them is a soul destroying job, but the field has gone from totally covered in mole hills to just 4 areas of activity now. Sometimes a 12g is a very effective tool, if you find one rising
