Jake
allowed to sue William Hill because he is a compulsive gambler. No, not because he's a compulsive gambler - it's because WH didn't abide by their code of conduct. Slight difference.
heartworm
Its not really for the gambling, he was part of the shops policy where you ask them not to serve you/

heartworm
Only says claimed at this stage, so a bit up in the air. Thats what the case is for though, its not just sueing for money bet, its sueing for money that shouldn't have been taken in a bet if the claims are found to be true

jamesmark
I have no sympathy for people like this, for people that just cannot say "No" The medical condition one got me, there is too much getting blaimed on so called medical conditions. ivan
I don't see why he should be allowed - he deliberately circumvented WH's code of conduct by opening a different account in another name. People like that make me want to swear.
Havard
It's only here or America where something so stupid could be taken seriously..... Then again, I am waiting for my solicitor to draw up papers against my local Chinese for making their food taste so damn good!! They've made me fat and they will pay for it. I'll see them in court..!! H.

As for the gambler, it's his own fault if he did open a second account. How stupid is he?!

bluecoup
working in the bookmakers trade, this is a very grey area, till full facts are known, at the moment it is possable to self exclude your self from shop or shops, the company i work for has over 700 shops, there is no way in the world if a stranger walks into my shop to place a bet i can check all the excluded customers before excepting his or her bet, if he has asked to have his account closed then opened another with a diffrent name, credit card, theres not alot the company can do, i also saw the police are investigating him for drugs and guns ? PJ
Common sense prevails. Exactly - hopefully they'll throw out the court case of the man who slipped on a grape in M&S car park and tore a tendon. He is claiming £300k in damages and loss of earnings due to l'oss of confidence' and 'depression' caused by his injury, WTF!!! People like that need to be counter claimed against for wasting the courts time and then taken out back or down to the cells for a quick introduction to a night stick or similar!
