Grazer
Finally got my HDs sorted - flashed the BIOS and I can now have both HDs running together with XP (thanks again Jake - total lifesaver!). My latest problem is in trying to copy my backed up files (on DVD-R) back to the HD. I keep getting this "cyclic redundancy check" error. It doesn't seem to matter which disc drive (CDROM/DVD writer) or which HD - always the same error - it'll copy a few files then stop. This is quite annoying, as I've got 5 DVDs full of mp3/image/video files that I would like back on the HD. Any thoughts?
mawby
Normally means damaged media. Try this program, although it's not one I've needed to use myself. http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/cd-recovery.html
JustGav
You can use ISOBuster to read the discs.. I've found that happens a lot these days with DVD media, and not always the cheap stuff as well.. I think the burners aren't aggresive enough and sacrafice pit depth for speed which in turn means the discs can't always be read.. Try it on a different drive.
