terribleturner
On my bike that is. First outing this year and took it out for a quick burn today. Not sure if my tyre was still cold or the floor was still a little damp or maybe even because i was leaning too much, but i came out of a junction and was making my way round a largeish roundabout and i just felt the back wheel sliding away. The people behind must of thought i was some sort of stunt rider or something, but i just shifted my weight back up and i corrected it. Absoultly s!£t myself, specially as it wasn't surpose to be a hard ride as i only had my jeans on.
Jake
Sounds fun. What bike? I can usually cope ok with the back sliding a bit on my Blade but I've slid the front tyre a couple of times during enthusiastic use and those were real brown trouser moments! The Hornet
No way am I taking my bike out until the roads sort them self out and gets a bit warmer! Good job you caught it in time and didn't come off. I've done this a few times with patches of slippy stuff on roundabouts My suggestion would be put it back in the garage for another month or so Hornet (Honda VTR1000)
terribleturner
If the front end slipped away im sure i would have needed a change of underwear. I'm riding a 98 R6 at the moment and as you can see by the picture, if i dropped it the graphics alone etc... would have cost a pretty penny. I think putting it away for a month or so would be wise, or maybe up until Alle Pallie Bike show in a couple of weeks
Jake
Nice bike. If you're not confident at the moment you'll be doing the right thing by not riding it. These types of bikes are not very forgiving and if you aren't in the right frame of mind.....
Miguel
AAAAH R6. I love them bikes. They handle real well.Yup you can drift em quite well in mad mode. Just be easy as with any bike you can go to far and end up with a high side...and the bike falls our with you. We all ride different. But my advice is stay within your confort zone . If it is wet ajust and be safe and stay in Your zone until you feel more at one with the bike . Dry riding differs quite a bit from damp or wet ridin (tyres for one). Like Jakes says watch the front also LOL them times can make the arse clap loud....Just ride in your zone and build it up slowly....we aint all Rossi out of the box..it just take practice....but please be carefull Just go easy and build up your confidence and get some miles under your belt...all will be good
