Jake
You can get a decent CSL for 30-32k too. I'd have a job to find it in the car park at work though - "Ah, there's my car - oh, no, that's not my one. Oh there it is, nope that's not mine either"
Gazboy
Jake it won't be long before 997's are sub £40k. Iirc 996TT's can be had for around this figure now, as can mk1 GT3's. £30k is Carrera money though and some really nice ones grow on trees at that money. Jake
Interesting. I dunno what I'm looking at with Porsches though Gaz. Would you care to show me (with a link I mean not IRL) what you consider to be a good 30-40k 911 ? Thanks

The wheels don't do for me either.
Jake
This one in a year's time might fit the bill (budget) http://pistonheads.com/sales/315013.htm It's maybe a bit bland looking though.

dangerous brain
One of those gt3 things got himself a bit of a surprise when he tried to overtake my turbo-nutter-luxo-barge at castle donington down the main straight. I saw him off more than comfortably on acceleration with just a hastily tuned t67
Gazboy
Lol- Jake that 997 was the first car I saw. I think it's stevieboy who works at a OPC, he'd be your guy for this really, or join up to PH and pick the brains of some very knowledgable members. You don;'t have to be a member to use the (crap) search engine (and it is crap).

dangerous brain
Yeah but for the money I'd be p*ss*d right off if some chav in his 1992 4 door saloon motor whalloped my ass. I'd be wondering wtf is an aristo anyways piece of crap wouldn't get out the way in the corners and was too fast down the straight to overtake
Jake
Seems innocent enough: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/252607.htmHmmm, that is quite nice, low mileage too. Not keen on the light grey interior and those weird headlights are still bothering me. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/images/252607-1.jpg

Jake
It was the leather that turned me off it, prefer this: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/387133.htm I like that! It's the front bumper I like and the wheels. Black leather interior too rather than all those horrible colour ones. What's the downside to this car Gaz? It looks, to a 911 newb like me, almost too good. "very special plate" Am I missing something? What's so special? Edit: oh "C4S" - bit lame though, innit? Do you prefer these lights: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/192681.htm God no, they're the one I really dislike!
Jazzy
Car is a C4S and the plate reads C FOUR S (well with a 3 in the middle of it)
Gazboy
No mate, looks like a typical C4S to my untrained eye. I've noticed all sub £40k TT's are either tips and/or have savannah extened leather (both a bad thing). My own 911 will be black on black with a manual box, or a really nice blue on black. Jake
Here just get this, love em http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/150169.htm That identical to one of the guys where I work's one. His was 2k cheaper though. No mate, looks like a typical C4S to my untrained eye. I've noticed all sub £40k TT's are either tips and/or have savannah extened leather (both a bad thing). The "4" in C4S means it's 4WD? Is that seen as a bad thing? What are the "must haves" and the "barge pole" things in 911 ownership? I don't want to be the equivalent of a new guy on here going "Hey everyone, I've just bought a NA Auto with Veilside kit, 6000K HIDs and neon under car lighting from Keithley Car Centre"

He said it stuck him to the seat, hes been in my old tt 6speed a few times aswell, 3.2 n/a 360bhp will deliver the power totally diff to a 320bhp turbo supra, il have to get a spin in one to make my mind up, top gear reckon there one of the best all round cars ever built

Tips are naff (although actually a very good box) to the masses and enthusiasts. Any coloured leather other than black is questionable- tan if it's just on the seats isn't too bad, but when it's on the door cards, dash, handbrake and steering wheel is awful. Colours- tastes seem to fluctuate, blue & black are always good, silver is safe, Forrest green goes through phases of being loved and loathed. Special order colours are mocked. I saw a peppermint green tiptronic C4 with red leather the other day, bargain price, it was atleast £10k below book. Incidently they do a colour similar to RSP. Some people like the GT3 style aerokits on Carreras, others hate them- aftermarket wheels are a no no unless they are a top brand like Dymag, Techart or BBS, but must be of original or option sizes. Basically the NA auto Veilside with neons bought from Keely would be: C4 in guards red with savannah extended leather, tiptronic on 20 inch Khans and a GT3 rear spoiler.
