Tee from China
That is well nice! if something else could be done with the rear lights that would be seriously stunning (not a fan of the MR2 rear clusters) You mean like these? and with this bodykit? michael
You mean like these? and with this bodykit? *vomits* The revision 3 lights are as good as it gets on the MR2 IMO, the aftermarket options just scream "chav in a Saxo"
Mas
*vomits* The revision 3 lights are as good as it gets on the MR2 IMO, the aftermarket options just scream "chav in a Saxo" I strongly agree. One of the only cars I always miss is my REV3 GTS. Do they make these spyders in turbo too?!
michael
Do they make these spyders in turbo too?! No but a couple exist - I drove one many years ago, just a standard rev 3 engine in there but it was lovely. Just a shame the roof is so crap.

You can get a turbo transplant for decent money. I can point you to the right people for that. But, I'd choose a 1MZ-FE transplant, a light alloy V6. 200bhp and 210lb/ft if I was going to change the engine.

Tee from China
I was planning to have a 3.0ltr V6 installed in the car by Woodsport This sounds interesting - any links to more info?

Tee from China
Yep. Woodsport are here If there's anything specific you want to know, let me know Cheers, was wondering weight wise over a 3S-GTE - is the V6 much heavier? Also you were going to use a 1MZ but Woodsport use a 3MZ - what the difference/advantage/disadvantage of each?
johnny g
The 3VZ-FE, not the 3MZ is common in the USA though. The 3VZ-FE is about 15-20kb heavier than a 3SGE, but about the same as a 3SGTE. Power is 185bhp and 201lb/ft. The 1MZ-FE is an alloy engine, around 30kg lighter than the 3VZ-FE. Power is 205bhp and 210bhp. Aftermarket ECU solutions are then around to take power to around 240bhp with manifolds and headwork.
Tee from China
Hi Johnny, interestingly from research those figures for the 3VZ are pre 95 and the later ones have 200bhp and 204 lbs/ft, could the 3MZ be used as its a 3300 cc 225 bhp? or stick with the 1MZ?, btw I see that NVI have two Spiders for sale as of yesterday(no prices quoted though!) The 3MZ could be used, although I think that engine is predominantly found in the US Market. For a V6 engine in the Spider, I'd have to say the 1MZ-FE. You can also add in the 1MZ-FE Supercharger by TRD (if you can source one from the states). At 4psi, that's proven to give 270bhp (with tubular manifolds and decat). I see NVI have them in, that's where I sourced mine from. So mine is there specifications - plus the alarm, battery and new clutch. I paid £8500 for my Spider 11 months ago.
