jevansio
I went down to the first Yorkshire Dyno Day today at Miami GT, was great to see all you guys & put faces to names, & thanks to Andy & his team for their hospitality . I had a great day, even the run down & back in hot pursuit of Tom was a howl. Onto the results, well it wasn't what I expected, graphs are: (flywheel bhp/torque): http://www.imotors.co.uk/temp/jay/SupraDyno/MiamiGT 508bhp 2.jpg (wheel bhp/boost): http://www.imotors.co.uk/temp/jay/SupraDyno/MiamiGT 508bhp 1.jpg Runs were done in 3rd gear. Looking at it now not sure why it's showing full boost by 5250 (thats T88 territory isn't it ). I'm not going to get hung up on the power figures, the car is amazing on the road (enough to spin up R888's in 4th gear at 80 leptons & punish my mates 520bhp 911) which is all that matters at the end of the day. Bobbeh
Was that dyno drawn with a pen by hand?
Gazboy
Was it wheelspinning on the rollers?

Pig
Jamie lost a spool time when his turbo fins died. Might be worth checking that.
jevansio
Was that dyno drawn with a pen by hand? I'd never seen a dyno plot like that before, but I've never been on this type of dyno before, assumed it was normal Was it wheelspinning on the rollers? Don't think so Gaz, it had that "power bar" thing which pushes the car harder onto the roller as it accelerates. I was car no 3 so wonder what he others looked like (I left after my run). jevansio
Jamie lost a spool time when his turbo fins died. Might be worth checking that. Don't say that , I've just replaced 1 GT4088R after 3 months of usage
Pig
Don't say that , I've just replaced 1 GT4088R after 3 months of usage Oh ok, mine spooled very late when i had a snapped piston ring....is that better???
JODY T
I dont understand the graphs, seems as though the revs pic up and then drop back? On a power run the car should be put in gear and foot on the floor, the graph should always be going from left to right, it shouldnt be back and forth like that.. Bobbeh
Maybe your car has such crazy power the dyno got lost doing its calculations

Ya git I dont understand the graphs, seems as though the revs pic up and then drop back? On a power run the car should be put in gear and foot on the floor, the graph should always be going from left to right, it shouldnt be back and forth like that.. Well I thought that too Jody, maybe it's a software issue, the revs certainly climbed positively all the way.
JODY T
We will have to see what others got, Might just have been a glitch on the first few motors.. Those Dynos are good usually... Suprised the guy who gave those to you didnt mention anything about it though
Ryan.G
WTF. Did somebody say Wheel spin!! I have worked with DD dynamics LOTS! and you should not be doing a supra in 3rd. Ryan
Tones
why did they do it in 3rd so? should be 4th gear i would have thought
Muffleman
Should be in 5th if possible, that's 1:1.
JODY T
5th maybe! i have heard some do it in lower gears becasue of the speed of a supra flat out in 5th, But it should be done in 5th regardless.. Just stand well back lol
Tones
Should be in 5th if possible, that's 1:1. oh yeah 6spd, from what ive seen they were done in 4th but they were all 5 speed cars, so 3rd is 100% wrong then, haha

jevansio
I know, we did all our mapping today in 5th Ryan normally does it in 5th at Motoscope too. I did ask Andy what gear he was going to do it in & he told me 3rd, can't for the life of me remember why now (he did say).
Ryan.G
You cant do supra's in 5th on DD Dyno's due to the Dyno not being able to go above 150mph. Ryan
