supra steveo
as it say i am getting done over by AOL . i signed for broad band in august 2004 the people i spoke to said to install the free trial i got through the door until i got my broad band modem in the post, when i got it i installed it and just yesterday i noticed that AOL had took a payment off my credit card for £20 so when i phoned up the fella on the phone said i had 2 accounts 1 dail up and 1 broadband and i was getting charged for both they have already taken £70 out of my account with out me knowing about it and have said its my fault because i made two conections ( ?????how the f*£k did i do that ). they said i made the dial up screen name my broad band conection but still using broad band, so i am writing a letter to the head office to try and get my money back has any one ever had a problem like this before?? Timwildman
Aol are the worst for hidden clauses, and taking money without you knowing. I went with virgin because you only have a monthy contract.

Whitesupraboy2
this happened to me exactly same thing. I got money back and one month free. Basically the records show how many times you log on. And some dickhead in family had logged on once for 2mins via dial up so they waved the cost and gave money back. Did you use the upgrade facility to go to broadband?? if so they should of disabled the dial up facility as you have upgraded the one account!! if u did mention this in letter as the aol software throws the upgrade box up when u sign on ...say if u cant do automated dont advertise it! I have always found aol helpful, but i work in computers so give them some shit back and they buckle quickly.

Whitesupraboy2
i have got the netgear wireless router, ( DG834G ) you can get these for bout £60 now.If you dont want wireless the netgear (DG834) will do u for around £50ish.The wireless cards for PC dont have to be same make so a cheap £15 - £20 card for PC fine and i got netgear PCMCIA card for laptop. No need to buy through aol at all. It aint special in thery any will work so you can go cheap. Its just they have tested those ones so if you have any problems setting up you can ring them up and they help. Im online with the PS2 with this router.... i know thats what you wanted to here AOL KEYWORD: NETWORKING shows what they support id get what they support but from other places for less! All pc's wireless and PS2 plugged in back of router via cable

Whitesupraboy2
as it happens the Network Card in the PC im on is a Belkin Wireless PCI network card.so works wit the netgear router fine. See with the router it connects to net so when it comes to Playstation, u choose DHCP as setting,so picks it all up from router so no configuring...then ur on. Fifa 2005 is good and so is Call of Duty online, burnout 3 is ok...cant wait for GT4 online!!
